Happiness, Love and Compassion

By: Jim Buchanan

There are just three keys to happiness in life.  They are the same three things that are the answer to the question, "what should I do with my life?".  This is true regardless of your religion, spirituality or ethnicity.  When you find yourself wondering how life could be more simple and fulfilling and aligned to your core purpose, here is your answer.

Happiness

We are spiritual beings, part of the Spirit of God, or the Energy of the Universe if you prefer.  This is our true nature.  Our human form, and all the names and roles and appearances and responsibilities that come with it, is but the present day manifestation of our Spiritual Self.

Looking deeper into this fact we see that the Spirit of God, and the Energy of the Universe is pure and unconditional Love.  So, that is what we are at the very core.  We are unconditional Love, and part of the limitless, eternal and unconditional Love of God.  This Love wants only what is good for us, and what is needed for us to be happy in our human form.

Happiness is available to us every moment of our lives, if we will simply remember who we really are and feel the unconditional Love of God.  In doing this we can rest assured that all is well and that any and every challenge or difficulty will be resolved according to God's plan for us, with unconditional Love as the guiding principle.  No matter where we are, or what is going on in our life, we are where we should be and experiencing what we need to get to this realization of the Love that resides at our core.

Happiness is indeed a choice.  A choice that is easy to make when we stay centered on the limitless Love that is our true being.

Love

Since we are made of pure, unconditional Love and part of God's Holy Spirit, we are called upon to share this Love with all other living beings.  Sharing this Love, and having compassion for all living beings, are the remaining two things we are called to do in our human form.

We have Love in unlimited quantities, and for all eternity.  Knowing this Love, and sharing this Love, are choices we can make at any, and every moment.  Of course, we can also choose to be angry or judgmental or critical or...it is truly up to us.  However, whatever we share will come back to us in kind.  So, if we share Love, we will receive Love in return.  If we share anger, anger will come back to us as well.  What we get is completely dependent upon what we give.  Thus, we have full control of our life and how our life evolves from day to day and year to year.

Since every living thing is made of this same Energy of the Universe, we are called upon to give Love to all living beings.  All animals, plants, insects, birds, fish and so on.  The Earth itself is a living being and deserving of our Love.  We must respect these facts, and that the same unconditional Love that is our true nature, is the true nature of all other living things.  Loving other living things is directly Loving ourselves.  Harming other living things is directly harming ourselves.  It is all directly connected.

Compassion

When we choose to be happy and choose to give love to all, we are nearly there in terms of living a happy and fulfilled life.  The final step is to be compassionate.  Seek to give help and support to all people, and to all other living beings, including the earth itself.  No matter what you do for a living, or hobby, or in your family and other relationships, stay focused on how you can truly understand the needs of others and then offer your help and support for those needs.  Give your help, and love, freely and without condition, and it will come back to you many times over.

So, for a happy life and fulfillment of your destiny on this earth, in every moment be happy, give love freely and without condition, and have the compassion to help others in any and every way that you can.  It is as simple as that.

Feeling Derailed? Here's What To Do

By: Jim Buchanan

It happens to all of us, more than once throughout our lifetimes.  Could be a relationship; or job/career; accident or illness; or just how we might be feeling about life overall.  Things were going along as we planned, or at least as we thought they should be, and then suddenly something happens and we feel off track, derailed.

I've been there more than once.  Failed marriages, dead end jobs, unplanned career changes.  Almost every time I've reacted as so many of us do.  Centered in my Ego, my reactions have typically been fear based which leads to the potent and nasty combination of high anxiety, anger, worry and deep sadness.  When I learned the following perspective, everything changed.  So, when you have the feeling of being derailed, of a big train wreck, here is what to do:

1. Don't panic and get reactive.  The reality is that you are not derailing but rather just changing tracks to a better destination.  Yes, it is rough and bumpy and the new destination is unknown at first.  But what is happening is supposed to happen and God, or the Universe if you prefer, has your best interest well in hand.  For reinforcement, just look back on the times in the past where you felt derailed.  Didn't things ultimately turn out for the better?

2. Stay grounded and patient.  This is a very important time to be disciplined about your spiritual practices.  For me that means daily meditation, yoga and regular prayers of gratitude.  This will help you stay open to direction on where to go next, and the steps to take to get there.  This is not a do nothing time, but rather a time to take the actions that come to you from a place of peace, patience and gratitude.

3. Nuture and protect the temple.  Our bodies are the temple for our true selves, our soul.  In this moment, when we are changing tracks, it is super critical to take very good care of our physical bodies and minds. My past tendencies have been to sleep less, because my mind is racing with worry.  To drink more wine, because I want to numb the negative feelings.  To eat poorly, because my ego convinces me to "indulge" myself during this unhappy time.  To skip my yoga practices and hikes, because it's just easier to sit on the couch and watch TV.  All of these negative actions are used by the ego to add fuel to the fear fire!  Instead, when I eat, sleep and exercise well it builds my sense of calm, peace and confidence that everything is well.

4. Be grateful and happy.  Changing tracks to a new and better destination is a wonderful thing!  God is working powerfully in your life and the power of the Universe is moving you forward.  This is actually a wonderful thing and definitely should be added to the daily gratitude prayer.

Taking these four steps will result in a sense of peace and excitement about a positive transition in your life.  That's a huge change from the feelings of fear and anger and worry and...

Who Are You?

By: Jim Buchanan

In high school and college in the late 60's and early 70's, I remember laughing about people we knew who had gone away somewhere to 'find themselves".  We guessed that they couldn't answer the question, who are you?  It seemed like a ridiculous notion, that we have to find ourselves, and I think we generally just chalked it up to they were either crazy, or on drugs (LSD was big back then!), or both.  About 40 years later I would realize that it wasn't so crazy after all.

In a previous blog post I've shared my journey of self discovery and awakening over the past four years or so.  I suppose everyone who takes this journey has a catalyst and mine was a potent mix of a failing marriage, a hollow career and deepening health concerns.  What has opened up for me in my quest to answer the question, 'who am I?' is nothing short of mind blowing.

In the midst of reading dozens of books, talking with yogis and others I considered to be enlightened, I finally and suddenly discovered, or more accurately remembered, who I really am in early July, 2012 in a tiny apartment in London.  The sudden and visceral realization that I am pure consciousness, part of God's Holy Spirit, and completely connected to all Universal Reality, hit me like a freight train.  Since that moment I have been going deeper and deeper into my Spirituality and Awareness of myself and all of life, from a completely different perspective.  Yes, I am still known as Jim, as Dad, as Brother, as Business Man, as...  But these are just characterizations of my current physical manifestations.  These will pass away when my body passes away, which could be in the next moment or thirty years from now.  The real me, the Soul or Spirit, is eternal with no beginning and no end, connected to all living things, conscious of all things 'Jim' and capable to be conscious of ALL things.

You are exactly the same, as is every other human being who lives today and has ever lived, or will live in the future.  We each know this somewhere deep inside, from before we are conceived.  And, we may hear it from a friend or read about it in a blog post like this one, but it won't make sense until we remember it for ourselves.  I believe this self discovery is dependent upon a few things:

  1. First, we must be motivated to answer the question 'who am I?'.  This doesn't mean we have to feel "lost", although we may, but we at least have to be really curious to know the truth about ourselves and about life.

  2. We must be open to new information and tough questions that challenge our concepts of life and our identity.  We must challenge preconceived notions about self, life, God and the Universe.

  3. We have to be open to change, perhaps dramatic change, in how we see ourselves and others.

I doubt that there is one way, or prescription, of books to read and things to do to pursue this truth for yourself.  I'm happy to share the details of my journey if you simply send an email to jim@purenaturalenergy.com.  However, one particular book stands out as particularly enlightening and thought provoking for me.

I've just finished reading The Untethered Soul, the journey beyond yourself, by Michael Singer for the third time in about three years.  Although this book had an immediate impact on me in 2012, each time I read it I go deeper into my Spirituality and awareness of the truth.  Singer does a really terrific job of both raising questions for us to ponder as well as providing some of the answers that may touch your core as they did for me.

If you are considering taking a journey of self discovery to the very truth about yourself and life, I highly recommend this book.  If, on the other hand, you already have the answer to the question of who you are, or you are not willing to risk stepping out of the mainstream of daily life as you currently know it, I suggest you take a pass on this one.  It is likely to open doors to places you've not imagined.

Thanks so much for reading my blog.  If you subscribe below you will receive each post, about 3-4 per week, in your email.  I promise that I will never share your address with anyone.

Feel The Energy

By: Jim Buchanan

Our bodies run on energy.  Every thought, emotion, action and bodily function requires an expenditure of energy.  So, to feel energized during the course of any given day, we must consume and have more energy stored than we are consuming through these activities.  Let's look at the sources of energy more closely.

We all know about the importance of the calories from food to fuel the activities of our bodies and minds.  But, not everyone is clear on the difference between high quality calories and lesser quality calories.  When we consume high fat and high sugar foods, our bodies can labor to digest and convert the food into useable energy (high fat) and can spike with energy that then dissipates very rapidly (high sugar).  Consuming whole plant foods is the most energy enriching choice.  Our bodies can easily convert these food sources into energy in a steady manner over the course of the hours between meals.  These foods also don't give us internal inflammation as animal based foods tend to do.  So, our bodies aren't then consuming more energy to try to repair the inflammation, just like repairing a rash or scrape on the outside of our skin.

We also gain energy when we condition our bodies through physical activities like yoga, hiking, walking, running and other forms of exercise.  We can't overdo these activities, or we will consume more energy than we build.  But, a healthy amount of physical conditioning will help us build and store energy, while strengthening our bodies and minds.  All high energy people that I know are physically fit.

The final source of energy is from the Universe, and this is available 24/7, but only when we are in the present moment.

You see, when we are not in the present moment we are either in the past or the future and sometimes rapidly back and forth between these two non-existent points in time.  Our minds are racing and the body's energy is being consumed by our thoughts and emotions, such as regret about the past and fear about the future.  I've spent years in this place and always felt like I was lacking in energy in far too many situations.

In the present moment we are simply experiencing what is, and the energy flows into our bodies.  In fact, as your yoga and mediation practices mature, training your body and mind to be in the present, you will actually be able to feel the flow of energy into your body.  This ability is such a breakthrough!  Imagine needing some extra energy at any moment in time, say for example during a long drive or a boring meeting or a difficult interaction with someone.  You can just pause, get fully into the present moment, and feel the energy pulse into your body.  It is remarkable!  This is also why we can feel energized after a good night's sleep.  Even though our bodies are still consuming energy while we sleep, and we are obviously not eating or exercising to gain more energy, the new energy with which we awake must come from the universe.  Because our minds are relatively quiet when we sleep, and not in the past or future, we can enjoy this energy infusion from the present moment.

If you want more energy in your life, to pursue all of your desires with optimal capabilities, adopt this Way of Living.  Eat a whole food, plant based diet; include yoga in a healthy and regular exercise routine; get plenty of sound sleep; and mediate and do yoga to learn how to enter the present moment whenever you want, to gather energy directly from the universe.  You will indeed feel the energy, and have more than you need, each and every day.

Hiking Meditation

By: Jim Buchanan

One of the most important things we can do, for energy, health and spiritual happiness, is to get outside and enjoy the beauty of nature and the energy of the universe.  I try to get out every day and walk/hike 4-12 miles depending upon my schedule.  Often, I combine my walk/hike with my daily meditation and always return home feeling happy and content.

Yesterday, I headed up into the hills near my home in the Bay Area of Northern California.  This is one of my favorite hikes and one I try to do at least once each week.  It is about 8.5 miles roundtrip from my house, and the middle 3.5 miles are up and over some serious hills with the views you see in this photo.  Just enjoying the beauty of nature, and feeling the energy from the universe, are such a blessing.

I learned the walking meditation technique from a Zen Buddhist monk during a daylong retreat on the Winter Solstice.  Shokuchi taught us to notice each step and our breathing and the sounds of nature.  Just providing the focus of the mind to these three things blocks out all other thoughts and provides a deep sense of calm.  I do this for about 20 minutes in the middle of a walk.  I tend to feel and hear each foot fall.  I hear my breath, which can become quite intense if I'm climbing one of the hills.  And, in this particular wilderness area I notice bird calls and the gentle rustling of the wind.  All other thoughts and emotions, past, present and future, tend to melt away and I can just stay in the serenity of the present moment in nature.

As you adopt this Way of Living I really encourage you to get out into nature at least twice each week. Include walking meditation into one or all of these hikes to feel energized, healthy and happy!

Why Yoga is a Core Part of My Way of Living

By: Jim Buchanan

You may have seen a recent blog post where I tell the story of my journey from a life of being overweight, limited in my health and not very happy with my life.  One of the key points of my story is that Yoga led me to meditation, vegetarianism and minimalism and to the healthiest, happiest and most energetic period of my life.  All at over 60 years of age!  Here is why yoga can be the catalyst for these dramatic improvements for anyone:

  1. Yoga, which is basically a collection of body postures and movements coordinated with active breathing, brings one into the present moment.  The peace associated with not thinking about the past and future, often with emotions like regret, anger and fear, is profound.

  2. Yoga's strenuous exercise provides the health benefits of weight loss, improved vital signs, better digestion, more restful sleep and awesome muscle tone.

  3. The spirituality associated with Yoga opens one up to their own spiritual nature and relationship with their Higher Power.  This is not a religious experience, but a deep spiritual experience for sure.  Below is a book by Deepak Chopra on the spiritual nature of Yoga.

  4. Yogis are some of the kindest and most thoughtful people I have ever met.  The peace and love that is often felt in a yoga class provides a level of energy that I take with me for at least the rest of the day.  It is very invigorating!

  5. Yoga is philosophically based upon the Yoga Sutras (see more in the book below) and creates a culture that tends to include a plant based diet and lifestyles that preserve the earth's resources and that find happiness in relationships and experiences rather than stuff.  This influenced me to become a Vegetarian and a Minimalist.

So, Yoga is part of my Way of Living and my daily routine.  It is not the only form of exercise I enjoy, partly because I love the energy I gain from hiking outdoors.  I continue to learn from the practice and the yogis I meet along the way.  My life continues to develop in a wonderful, healthy and happy way as each moment passes!

My Story

By: Jim Buchanan

My journey to vibrant energy, perfect health and spiritual happiness has spanned the last four years.  Changes have happened in a step by step fashion and I'm grateful that I've felt better and better with each step.  I started when I was 57 and I'm now nearing 62 years of age.  I am now healthier and happier than I have ever been in my life!  My blood chemistry, vital signs, weight and body mass index are comparable to a man less than half my age.  This Way of Living costs me less in monthly expenses and takes no additional time out of my daily routine.  I'm confident that anyone could enjoy these same benefits.  Here is how my story developed:

In late 2010 I was a successful banker making lots of money and with a good future ahead of me. But I felt unfulfilled in this profession because I didn't see how I was doing anything helpful for others.  I was married with four children, one of whom was finishing high school and the rest were on their own.  My relationship with each of my children was one of the only sources of happiness I had at this time in my life.  My marriage was troubled and, although I didn't know it at the time, we were headed for divorce.  I was about 25 pounds overweight and taking medications for high cholesterol, heartburn, erectile disfunction and insomnia.  I was keenly aware of my family's history with heart disease and knew that I too was vulnerable.  One day, a friend suggested I try yoga to help me regain some sense of peace.

Yoga was very hard at first.  I was not flexible at all and what little physical fitness I had from occasional running and walking was not too helpful.  I remember the first class and the sweat was pouring off of me!  It was a beginner level but somehow I felt I was the only beginner!  I spent a lot of time in child's pose just to catch my breath.  But, in the hours after class I felt some sort of special sense of peace and energy.  It was enough to bring me back to the studio a couple of days later.  It wasn't much easier the second time but I was starting to learn some of the postures.  I kept coming back every few days, and soon a habit was starting to form.  I just loved how calm, peaceful and full of energy I felt after each class.

As I continued my yoga practice into early and mid 2011, I found that it was a primary source of fulfillment in my life.  I started to feel healthier and I had more energy.  I began to sleep better, without the prescription medication.  I was hooked!

Some of the new friends I made in the yoga community (we are called yogis!) encouraged me to try meditation.  I had become a voracious reader at this stage in my life, so I picked up a couple of short books on meditation and started to "sit" for 5-10 minutes per day.  Again, this was hard at first as the thoughts just continued to race through my mind.  But, as I learned to focus on my breathing my mind began to calm down.  I would notice the occasional thoughts and just let them pass along.  The combination of the two practices, yoga and meditation, had me feeling better than I had in years.

About six months into this journey I went to a Friday evening potluck hosted by a friend from the yoga studio.  Everyone there was a vegetarian, or vegan, and there were so many amazingly delicious dishes at the party!  I had been a omnivore for well over 50 years at this point, and meat was part of almost every meal.  But, I left that party with a determination to begin to move away from a meat-based diet.

Right away, I stopped eating red meat.  This was a bit difficult because it was such a prominent part of my diet, and the family meal plans.  But, I didn't miss the heaviness of the red meat at all.  About six months later, I stopped eating poultry.  So, I was technically a Pescetarian, eating fish along with vegetables and fruits.  This continued for about a year and then I finally went all the way to a vegetarian diet, with only a little bit of cheese each week.  It seemed like each step in this progression paid dividends in terms of weight loss, increased energy and improving overall health.  I was able to stop taking all prescription medications and I lost about 25 pounds overall.  This really impacted my wardrobe, however, as I went from a 35" waist to a 32" waist!

The last step in this journey, so far, started in late summer of 2013 when I moved from Charlotte to the San Francisco area.  Following my divorce I had given up almost every thing we had owned together so I literally was able to move everything I owned in my 2005 Acura SUV.  It felt so freeing to not have a bunch of stuff I didn't need to be comfortable and happy.  I didn't know it at that time, but I was becoming a minimalist.  This would dawn on my in January, 2015 when I realized that I really didn't miss shopping and buying things that were not essential to my life.

Throughout this journey I continued to read at least a book a week, sometimes more, and developed a deep awareness of my true self as part of the Spirit of God, and not the ego and person that I had thought I was all along.  Some of this awareness has come from studying A Course in Miracles which is roughly based upon the teachings of Jesus, and some has come from the teachings of Buddha.  I consider myself to be a deeply Spiritual person, but not at all religious.

Today, late January, 2015, I feel so grateful for my completely new life with perfect health, vibrant energy, the love of God, my Children, family, girlfriend, and friends and an abundance of the necessities of life.  I practice yoga and meditation daily.  I eat a whole food, plant based diet and I enjoy the freedom of having just the material possessions that I need to live comfortably.  I have a "day job" that pays the bills, and I support this blog and website to help others discover this amazing Way of Living.

I'd be happy to answer your questions or help you in any way that I can.  Just drop me an email at jim@purenaturalenergy.com.

Spiritual Happiness

When I started my journey to amazing energy and health I didn't really think about where I was spiritually.  As mentioned in yesterday's blog, I was pretty locked up in my ego and didn't really think about my soul very much.  I spent a lot of my mental energy either thinking about the past, perhaps with some regret at times, and worrying about the future.  So, I wasn't in the present moment very often, if at all, and I didn't really know my true self.

One of the greatest benefits of yoga and meditation is that they bring you into the present moment, and they eventually open you up to some of the deeper questions of life.  I had been practicing both for about a year before I discovered my true self, as a spiritual soul and part of God's powerful Holy Spirit.  This is not about religion, it is about connecting with whatever you believe the divine life force to be.  God, God Force, Life Force, Universal Energy, The Field, it doesn't matter.  What matters is that you discover that you are not your ego, but rather a force much more powerful and eternal.

On this journey I've become a voracious reader for the first time in my life.  At any point in time I'm reading about 2 to 4 books and devote time to read every morning and evening and then often during breaks in the day.  One of the most powerful books I've read is A Course in Miracles.  You can see more about it and purchase here:

The book was published fifty years ago and has spawned a following of millions of people all around the world.  Google will lead you to lots more information about the book and the communities that continue in group study over the contents.

For me, A Course in Miracles has put spirituality and religion into a perspective that makes sense.  I do believe in God and I also believe that many great people and prophets have been able to leave their egos and align fully to their souls to carry God's message to others.

Knowing that I am part of God's Holy Spirit, and seeing the place that love and forgiveness have in daily life, brings me immense spiritual happiness.  I hope that you too will find this place, and I know that yoga and meditation can help to blaze the pathway!

Me...And My Ego

Like everyone else, my ego started to develop a few months after birth.  It happened slowly, as it does, and sure enough I learned how to be my separate self.  I learned from my family and friends.  I learned from school, and later from work.  I even learned from church!

What I learned is that I should generally make things all about me.  Not exclusively of course or in a hurtful way, but I definitely needed to look out for Number 1!  I also learned to value money and possessions, position and power.  So, I spent decades pursuing all of those things.  You know, houses and cars and clothing and boats and art and...But, they didn't make me happier.  I found, gradually at first, that happiness only came from family and close friends and the experiences we had together.  Now that all of the houses and stuff are gone, I realize I don't miss them at all!

My journey to understanding my ego, and my soul, really started in the summer of 2012.  Through a period of reading and meditation I came to the very sudden realization that the real me is my soul, not my ego!  And, that my soul is from God, is based on pure unconditional love, and is eternal.  It is impossible to describe this initial awakening, but I could take you to the very small apartment in London in which I was living at the time.

Much deeper understanding of my soul, and of my ego, came recently when I read The Seat of the Soul.  You can see it here below.

This book gave me such a clear understanding of my soul and ego, and also of my ability to be constantly aware of my ego at each moment.  I can now stay (mostly) aligned to my soul.  This has freed me from desires for money and more, and focused my attention on relationships and helping others, and on love and compassion and peace. I have never been happier, ever.

Each morning I read something inspiring about my soul or consciousness or God (watch tomorrow's blog post for more on this) and then I mediate for about 20 minutes.  I then do some yoga, from a few minutes to a more extended practice when I will not be attending a class in the studio.  This routine helps me to stay in the present moment, and aware of my ego so that my intention can align to my soul.

I'm sure that my ego is a strong as ever but my ability to be aware of it, and it's desires, and to choose to align to my soul instead, is life changing.  I really encourage you to give it a try!

The Six Reasons I Became a Vegetarian

By: Jim Buchanan

It didn't happen overnight, in fact it was about a three year journey.  First I gave up red meat but continued with poultry and fish.  Next, I gave up poultry but continued with fish.  Finally, I gave up all forms of meat and now, four years later, my diet is plant based whole foods and some cheese occasionally.

Here are the 6 reasons why I made this journey, and why I know I will never go back.

  1. I started to question my diet due to my overall health issues and the long history of heart disease in my family.  Reading The Omnivore's Dilemma and The China Study definitely got me going down the path for health reasons.

  2. Once I started to eliminate meat from my diet, I was able to stop taking prescription medications for high cholesterol and heart burn. Today, I don't need any medications of any kind.

  3. I was able to lose 20 pounds and easily keep that weight from returning.  The picture above is proof!

  4. I have the energy level of someone less than half my age.

  5. My spiritual growth over the past four years has led me to a belief that all sentient beings are part of the same Spirit of God that I am.  Animals don't deserve to die anymore than I do!

  6. There is a lot of science out now that validates the fact that the single most significant thing we can do to help the environment is to become vegetarian.  A couple of supporting facts:

  • The 17 Billion animals that are raised for food around the world contribute more greenhouse gases to the atmosphere than all cars and trucks combined!

  • Raising livestock for food consumes 10-50 times more water than the equivalent amount of plant-based food.

  • Livestock contributes harmful waste, hormones and antibiotics to the watershed.

  • Livestock takes valuable forest land which would not be needed in a plant-based world.

So, if you want to have more energy, better health, lose weight and reduce your impact on our environment, GO VEGGIE!

Two Emotions, One Choice

As human beings, we have but two basic emotions from which to choose in each moment of our existence.

The first basic emotion is love and this comes from God.  In fact, love is God, and God is love.  Love is the root emotion of joy and happiness and grace and caring and nurturing and peace.  It is the only emotion we are born with, and the one that stays with us no matter how our life unfolds.  Love is the root of all things good.

The other emotion is fear and this comes from our ego.  Fear is not of God, in any way what so ever.  We are not born with fear, in fact we learn fear from family and friends and schools and businesses and governments and other fearful humans in our lives.  Fear is the root emotion of anger and hate and regret and guilt and greed and jealousy and war.  Fear is the root of all things bad.

In each moment of each day, consciously or unconsciously, we choose either love or fear and all of the other emotions follow accordingly.  When we choose love, our life is full of things like joy and caring and grace and peace.  When we choose fear, our life is full of anger and regret and greed and war.  This is a free choice, by the way, and is not mandated by another person or institution.  We can, and do, freely choose one or the other many times each and every day.

So, which will you choose in the next moment?  Later today?  Tomorrow? Next week?  Imagine for a moment how your life will unfold if you choose love rather than fear.  In fact, imagine how the world around you will unfold, depending upon your choice.  In fact, imagine how the world at large would unfold if we all would only choose love.  Interestingly, I believe that that is all God asks us to do.  To choose love.

My 2015 Resolutions

Many people set New Year's Resolutions.  They want a change, or changes.  They want improvement and better things in their lives.  Often these resolutions include losing weight, exercising more or other health related activities, in addition to a myriad of other self improvement actions.  The intent is to feel better about themselves, their relationships and their manner of living.

I'm very grateful to be able to say that I don't have any New Year's Resolutions for 2015.  Over the past four years I have found three practices that have transformed my life, in every possible way, and now I just want to continue doing what I'm doing each and every day.

Hello, World!

Four years ago I started practicing yoga.  Soon thereafter I shifted my diet, step by step over time, to a Whole Food, Plant Based diet and I also began to meditate.  Today, I practice yoga and meditation each day and I eat a very healthy vegetarian diet.  I've never had more energy, even as a young boy and I've never been healthier nor more spiritually happy.

My story and the path I've followed to reach this blissful place, and the resources that have helped me along the way, are all available on my website

I hope you enjoy your journey as much as I have mine and I'm happy to help you in any way that I can!
