Spiritual Happiness

When I started my journey to amazing energy and health I didn't really think about where I was spiritually.  As mentioned in yesterday's blog, I was pretty locked up in my ego and didn't really think about my soul very much.  I spent a lot of my mental energy either thinking about the past, perhaps with some regret at times, and worrying about the future.  So, I wasn't in the present moment very often, if at all, and I didn't really know my true self.

One of the greatest benefits of yoga and meditation is that they bring you into the present moment, and they eventually open you up to some of the deeper questions of life.  I had been practicing both for about a year before I discovered my true self, as a spiritual soul and part of God's powerful Holy Spirit.  This is not about religion, it is about connecting with whatever you believe the divine life force to be.  God, God Force, Life Force, Universal Energy, The Field, it doesn't matter.  What matters is that you discover that you are not your ego, but rather a force much more powerful and eternal.

On this journey I've become a voracious reader for the first time in my life.  At any point in time I'm reading about 2 to 4 books and devote time to read every morning and evening and then often during breaks in the day.  One of the most powerful books I've read is A Course in Miracles.  You can see more about it and purchase here:

The book was published fifty years ago and has spawned a following of millions of people all around the world.  Google will lead you to lots more information about the book and the communities that continue in group study over the contents.

For me, A Course in Miracles has put spirituality and religion into a perspective that makes sense.  I do believe in God and I also believe that many great people and prophets have been able to leave their egos and align fully to their souls to carry God's message to others.

Knowing that I am part of God's Holy Spirit, and seeing the place that love and forgiveness have in daily life, brings me immense spiritual happiness.  I hope that you too will find this place, and I know that yoga and meditation can help to blaze the pathway!
